Beverly Garside’s graphic novel I and You takes place in 2098, in the Randian Republic of Atlantis!
My favorite story on business: The Lorax.
My favorite story on the compassion of both generosity and regulation:
Straight from the horse’s mouth, and the horse’s admirers: the Ayn Rand Institute.
Adam Lee’s chapter-by-chapter dissection of Atlas Shrugged on Patheos. I agree with most of his analysis, and you owe it to yourself to read his brilliant discussion of Rand’s logical flaws.
Levi Asher’s psychological analysis of Rand and Objectivism, Why Ayn Rand Is Wrong (and Why It Matters). He treats the idea that humans are basically self-interested with the respect it deserves and rebuts it successfully with three separate arguments: that the premise is never checked (the biggest Rand no-no, and yet she was guiltiest of this of all!); that each of us possesses an individual self and a collective self; and that even the individual self as described by Descartes, that of the thinking self, is not limited to the physical self or its physical needs. Once we understand that our thinking and feeling go beyond our bodies—that they are are, in fact, affected by other human beings—, we accept we are not only interdependent but connected with all other living beings.

Robert Reich’s documentary Inequality for All. In this documentary he outlines the problem of excessive income inequality (how much is too much?), its causes, and solutions. Mr. Reich makes some of the same points I do in SS, but he does so in a shorter and more visually-appealing way.
Rachel Dolezal’s In Full Color. Ms. Dolezal has lived the truth that race is a social construct while facing storms of racism for daring to live outside the rigid constructs. She is a true pioneer, a racial/cultural ambassador, and a great artist, daring to be herself in the face of not only respectful disagreement but disrespectful intolerance. Most people don’t know her parents slandered her to protect their child-rapist son from criminal charges. She was to be the corroborating witness. Her website.
